What the analyzer finds

Every climb, ranked

Each climb's start, length, elevation gain, average grade and steepest 100 m, ranked by FIETS score so you know which ones matter.

An honest elevation profile

Smoothed to remove GPS and barometer noise, with every climb shaded and the total split by quarter of the route.

Descents and corners

The steepest descents and every corner on the route line, graded from gentle to very technical, with the tight ones on descents called out.

GPX analyzer FAQ

What does the GPX analyzer show?

Every climb and descent at least 300 m long with 20 m of elevation change, ranked by difficulty; the elevation profile; how the climbing is spread across the route; the steepest 100 m on each climb; and every corner detected from the route line, graded from gentle to very technical.

Which files can I analyze?

GPX, FIT and TCX files with a single continuous track and up to 20,000 points. That covers exports from Ride with GPS, Strava, Komoot, Garmin Connect, Wahoo and most race websites. Files need elevation for the climbing analysis.

Is my route saved or shared?

No. The file is analyzed in memory and discarded. It is only saved if you choose to create a free account and save it to your private library.

Why is the elevation gain different from Strava or Garmin?

Apps count elevation differently. RideMorrow smooths the profile and ignores rises under a few metres, which removes GPS and barometer noise. Apps that add up every small rise report higher totals for the same route.

How is climb difficulty ranked?

By FIETS score: height² ÷ (length × 10), in metres. It rewards climbs that are both long and steep. A score of 1 is a solid climb; 5 and above is a mountain pass.

Is it free?

Yes. The analyzer is free with no account. A free account adds an interactive map, a personal ride briefing from Morrow and a private library of your routes.
